Ive posted this on another forum but cant find the answer.

I have the above hardward connected to Geil DDR 6400 Ram.

I have the ram installed in channel A Dimm A1 and Channel B Dim B1 too run in dual channel mode.

No matter what i do i cant get the FSB settings to boot above 220.

Although AI-NOS has managed to overclock under load too 240 FSB. The mahine wont boot in manual settings at anywhere near this. I have just updated the bios to the lastest revision, upped the RAM to 1.95 and CPU core to 1.40. Not both at the same time, to see if the machine will boot and still it wont.

At stock the machine runs and plays BF2 (only game im playing atm) fine.

Below are my bios settings can anyone help?

I was only looking at an initail overclock to 2500 as this is a new machine, but am struggling to get near 2000.

Overclocks fine in AI-Nos mode underload, with all settings in bios on auto. However Ai suite has a limit of overclocking only 20%. Also when attempting to set the FSB is manual mode. The system boots into preset settings.

Boost your memory up to 2.15 to 2.25 volts and give yourself a chance!

1.40 to 1.45 volts for the cpu would be good and 1.45 for the NB Vcore will also help.

Set the voltages all at once and if you're having problems getting over a specific FSB number then try jumping 10 or 20 or ...more MHz over it.

333 x 9 would be a good initial number to shoot for.
 
I lowered the Multi to 7 and changed all the ram settings that were 10 down to 15. I upped the FSB to 260 and it worked !

The core was 1.3375 and ram was 1.90, im not sure if it will boot with a multi of 8. But will report back.

I will try some other settings tonight if you have a suggestion befoer then please let me know.

FSB speed 333, wouldnt take 350 resets just before xp boot screen i think.

When you have a dual core processor you need to use Orthos instead of Prime95. It is a nice looking GUI for the original Prime95 code so it loads your processor like Prime95 does but it loads both cores.

The voltage you set in the Asus bios usually gets reduced by the time you reach Windows. Set a voltage in the bios so you end up with the Intel default of 1.325 volts at full Orthos load. You might need to set the bios to 1.375 volts to really get 1.325 volts out of it.

2.1 volts for your memory is still pretty conservative. High performance memory manufacturers are taking Micron D9GMH chips that are factory rated at DDR2-667 at 1.8 volts and increasing the voltage up to 2.1 volts to 2.2 volts for a DDR2-800 rating and some like Team are boosting that up to 2.35 volts and then calling the same chips DDR2-1066.

My favorite for 24/7 use is 400 MHz FSB x 8 multiplier = 3200 MHz. You should be able to achieve that with the above voltages.
 
Use orthos instead of prime 95.

Set multiplier back to 8x and FSB at 330. Start off with that.
Mem @ 2.0 is fine.
Vcore bump upto 1.4 and give it a try.

But yet again. Run orthos instead and run Large Ftts that will test just your cpu and see if it can handle it. If it runs without crashing for 7+ hours your good. Then run the Small Ftts that stresses your Ram. Most of the time the ram is what kills ya ;)
 
First make sure you have C1E and EIST disabled, your Oc won't go anywhere if you don't.

I don't have your high-end type MoBo, but I do have a Intel E4300 (highest OC in the data base for that chip) and you should beable to get to a 333 FSB at default voltages on the core, NB and FSB TV. My chip will go to a 350 FSB at default, most will. Your ram at those timings should also handle that low of a OC with little or no extra voltage, but set it at the makers spec, just to be safe.

i havent had a chance to mess with it, and im even behind on my lost and Rome TV rip episodes :D

But will post some results as they occur. Thanks alot for the help guys i posted this on 3 other forums and this one was the best and only one in fact that got results.
