Hi everyone,

I have an old ecs/via board from fry's that has a celeron 430. I'd like it to do some video serving, which means a cpu upgrade is in order.

Re-encoding a current mpeg2 720x480 -> 720x480 (deinterlaced, lower bitrate) stream in linux using vlc & serving it out eats ~ 50% cpu or so constantly.

My board officially supports an E2180. If it supports an E2180, it should support E2220 as well, no ?
 
I would say there won't be any problem with it as it's the same as the E2180 (fsb = 800 still) and a higher multiplyer.
