Intended for a new home file server so processing power isn't important, prices in my location:

E2160 (Dual Core 1.8GHz 1MB L2): $88.60
E1200 (Dual Core 1.6GHz 512Kb L2): $72.00
Cel 420 (Single Core 1.6GHz 512Kb L2): $46.172

Any of these will run on a GA-P31-DS3L (already got it) with 2GB DDR2/667 and XFX 7200GS passive gfx.

This new system is gonna replace an s939 3200+ (Venice)

My main concern here is power consumption, any clues? (even better, any CPU power consumption comparison table linkage?)

TIA!

Have you considered underclocking and undervolting the processor? That would definitely make power consumption a non-issue with any of them.

The E1200 because it has speedstep and the lowest clockspeed. The Celeron 420 would easily have the lowest power consumption at load.

You can also undervolt and underclock for even lower power consumption. I believe most Gigabyte boards let you do that in BIOS.
