would something like an e2160/2180 be much of an upgrade from a brisbane 4400? i mean, both being overclocked, all else the same, would it be noticeable? for light to medium gaming, stuff like tf2, css, and word/internet/powerpoint. thanx.

tough call, I would say wait a bit, your 2800mhz x2 is ok for now, maybe get a better vcard instead or just wait till a better choice is available

well ok then. i was going to get one of the evga b-stock 650i or 680i lt boards and a cheap allendale for a $150 upgrade but i will wait it out. maybe wait for 4500/4600 to come down a bit.

Depends on how well it overclocks.

If you get a 100% overclock like many people have been getting, I'd think it would smoke your brisbane.

Intel does more per clock than AMD does in this generation, so I'd think there would a difference especially if you can get that E2160 up to 3GHz+. My E2180 at 3GHz matched or bested the 6400+ in my father's machine.

You'll get better framerates in TF2 and CS:S (assuming you get a 3GHz overclock), for general computing I doubt you'll see any difference at all.
