e-Reminder for XP?

Does anyone know of a small, decent, and free calendar-thing for XP? Where you can input people's birthdays or anniversaries or any kind of event, perhaps even with an alert in case you forget.

It would be nice to mod the current "Date & Time" that comes with Windows so that you can just mouseover the time (in the lower-right corner by default) and it would say whatever caption you had inputted for that day, along with the Day, Month, Year, etc...

I know the feeling, i'm wanting something simple that doesn't hogg all the memory and either cheap/free. Birthdays, and bill dates are my main things i'm wanting it for to help me remember when to pay and when to buy .... it all revolves around spending my pretend hard earned cash that my state job pays me lol..... damn
