• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
    Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I had to use my school email address to sign up for the forums. I have a gmail account for all of my emails that don't pertain to my schoolwork. Is there any chance of being able to use my gmail account so I can recieve post notifications without having to overload my school account, because I want to leave that to just emails from my professors and such.

Gmail as with all web based accounts (most of the worst offenders for spamming) has been filtered out and is no longer valid as a forum email account. You may see members with a gmail address, but they were grandfathered in before the abuse began and will be replaced over time.

(6) No Web based EMAIL ACCOUNTS (i.e Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc) allowed for forum registration or for use in For Sale/Trade Forum. You must have a valid e-mail account where you can be reached by a forum moderator or administrator. Email accounts must be updated in your account when a change is required.

Straight from the forum rules :)

I read the rules, but I don't know why there can't be exceptions for those who use the forum correctly and don't just sign up to spam their site over all the forums. I just don't want my next hw assignment and "Doom 3 expansion pwns!!!@#$!@" comming into the same account.

I understand your problem, but the filter works on a global scale and no exceptions are permitted and will not be accepted by the system at this point.

set a rule to automatically forward emails from the hardforum to gmail and at the same time move it to your deleted folder

how would i do that

depends on your client. I don't know how to have Thunderbird autmatically forward the messages to another account, but you can create a folder specially for Hardocp. I don't see why having a seperate folder would be a problem or interfere with your schoolwork.

In Thunderbird, goto:
Tools->Message Filters->New...
"Match any of the following": From -> contains -> hardocp
Move to folder -> New Folder ->Make a folder called [H]ard|OCP
