services like no-ip.com offer to give you a domain name and then with their client the DNS record is updated as your dynamic IP changes (whether infrequently or not, it can change so it covers your ass).
Now that's nice and I could get by with that, but how about just something running a PC in a remote location that would periodically email me, message me or somehow notify me of what it's IP Is every day or something
