i have a new hd and its showing as a dynamic disk (win x64)
the drive is empty but i want it to be basic not dynamic.
i followed the instructions on microsoft to convert it and when i right click i dont get the options to convert it, partition magic wont do anything to the drive. im stuck

If the drive is empty, can't you delete the current partition(s) and reformat it?

i delete them and format but it still shows up as dynamic
even if i delete the partition so theres nothing, partition magic shows it as a dynamic drive

I'd get the diag utility from the drive maker's site and wipe the drive clean, then try to format it back in Windows.

i followed the instructions in one of the search threads about getting diskprobe from windows server edition. worked perfect.
