    hi,

I keep getting unsupported 16-bit application when trying to run dxdiag in windows 7. I have reinstalled directx(nov 08) but the error is still there. Directx mar 09 says internal error occured.

please can you help me solve this.

You shouldn't have insatll DirectX on Win7. It's got the best version already built-in (for now). Not sure what installing old DirectX over the newer DirectX on Win7 would have done.

You can, and should, have multiple versions of DirectX installed at once. DirectX isn't like service packs, for example, where having the latest means you have all the previous parts as well. If a game prompts to install DX9, you should allow it to install.
