Just curiously... has anyone heard of anyone trying to do this?

I mean, we all know lots of people like to stick it to M$, so why is it not conceivable that a group might try to find a way to get DX10 into XP?

Someone will try it, but considering DX10 just came out there's no motivation for someone to get it to run on XP yet.

*sigh* this question has been asked to death. please look before you post. also it would break many copyright laws if someone was even able to put direct x 10 on xp;plus there would be many compatibility issues.

Vista DX10 isn't even working yet, as far as anyone here can prove. Let's wait until we actually have some drivers, games and apps before we start making requests for hacks.

Is it possible? Yes, if Microsoft can maneuver Intel integrated support into Vista, someone could hack DX10 into XP. Even if it's under a wrapper, I think it's highly probable.

plus there would be many compatibility issues.

what?? On Vista? Oh... I save everyone the obligatory crap and not go there :)

also, I appologize for not searching on the topic first - i'm quite hopped up on cold meds, the idea came to mind, and I posted.

WOOPS! :p
