DX 10.1 Benefits on Radeon

Some interesting info. The next patch will remove DX 10.1 support temporarily.

"In addition to addressing reported glitches, the patch will remove support for DX10.1, since we need to rework its implementation. The performance gains seen by players who are currently playing Assassin’s Creed with a DX10.1 graphics card are in large part due to the fact that our implementation removes a render pass during post-effect which is costly."
That sounds retarded, the image quality screenshots look fine, if this implementation looks better, and performs better. Why would they "fix" it. OMG.

The timing and explanation for this is very suspicious, IMHO. It almost seems as if nV flexed some muscle and got this pulled.

I would like to not think that. Is it a "The way it's meant to be played" game? Did money or services change hands? If so, then I suppose I would have to accept the possibility of what you are saying.

Yes, it's a TWIMTBP title:

But, like I said, the timing is what stinks here. I'm not saying that I know for a fact that nV did this, it's just that this would have been a bright spot for ATI. ;)
