dvi refresh rate is too low?

why do dvi lcd monitors are limited to a 60hz refresh rate?:)
 
id doesnt matter on and LCD nearly as much as a crt anyways

my old samsung was 70 hz and my new sony is locked at 60, even with the lower responce time... still looks alot nicer than the older one did

it does look sharper than my benq fp767 lcd, but my eyes hurt a little with the 60hz refresh rate.:)

It's not the LCD refresh rate hurting your eyes then, as low refresh rates on a LCD don't cause flickering like CRTs.

Yes but there are other things that hurt your eyes when using a lcd. Bright back light, dithering, contrast changes when moving stuff and so on can cause eye strain.
 
...but a 60hz refresh rate will limit games to 60fps...correct? So if I use the VGA cable instead, I will get higher fps in games? Is dvi quality noticibly better than vga?

Everything else being equal DVI should outperform VGA by a pretty good margin. You can cheat and up your refresh, I’ve tried it. Strangely enough it actually slows down your video. I’m back at 60 and quite happy.

picture quality is to put it simple, without ghosts, the image is just like vga but clear no imperfections, no interfearence from speakers and any other magnetic source i think.
 
But why would you want anthing hight the 60fps in games, because you cant tell the different with anything higher then 50fps??????????

I think it depends on the person... some people insist on having 60fps at all times otherwise they notice it... its just like how some people buy 12ms lcds and notice ghosting, but others are perfectly fine with it.. I guess it depends on how sensitive or quick your eyes are at reacting..
