This is a repost of a mispost i made in the video card forums =(
Hey everyone I recently purchased a dvi cable from newegg for my Sceptre x20wg NAGA (Great display btw)
The issue I am having is that I play BF2142 fairly often and before I purchased the DVI cable, played on the VGA cable that came with the monitor perfectly fine. When I hooked up the DVI cable the game wouldn't start and would crash to the desktop after a brief black screen (which normally would follow with the intro vids)
Naturally I command line force BF2142 to play in widescreen (1280x800 16:10 )with a bit cut off the top and bottom but it beats playing with a stretched image IMO.
So is this a DVI cable issue or the game? because otherwise the cable does sharpen the image a little bit and doesn't seem to have any issues with normal windows and dvd viewing operations
NOTE: I have and am currently back to using the VGA cable and playing BF2142 with the widescreen settings with absolutely no problems.
Any help would be appreciated thx!
