Well, I found out my X1800XT wont show a picture when using the DVI on the right.
It will only show it on the left DVI connection, even if I shut the PC off completely and then switch connections.
If I switch it back to the left after windows has booted it just shows the desktop as usual.
From my experience, the bios screen is supposed to post on both DVI's -no matter what.
Any ideas of something to try b4 RMAing it?
 
Defenitly strange, but unless it worries/bothers you that much, I don't think unless its giving you artifacts or etc that its big enough a problem. Try killing you bios by removing the battery or etc and try that
 
It's not a problem for me right now, since I use one screen.
But I was planning on a 19" editing LCD next year, and that will require Dual Dvi.
Also from my latest GPU selling experience, I had to RMA the card since the guy needed Dual DVI and it didn't work....
Anyway, I don't settle for any flaws in my hardware, it just flat out annoys me.
 
It's not a flaw, the card is working as expected with Windows XP and PNP.

I fought the same problem this weekend with an x1600xt and this is what I think the problem was:

When you first install the drivers the video port that is active is tagged as the primary video using plug and play, the other one (if it isn't in use) should be tagged the secondary video. If the secondary port isn't active in control panel or CCC; nothing will be displayed on it, even if you unplug the original display and reboot.

I fixed the problem the hard way by using a second lcd, activating the secondary display, then swapping displays between the ports and making the new port the active (primary) video port. I didn't completelyt fix the problem; if I have the second monitor attached the screen image is cloned to it until Windows XP starts, then behaves normally.

After looking through ATI's site today, I think should be able to fix the problem permanently by simply resetting PNP in the BIOS or if that failed by uninstalling and reinstalling the Catalyst drivers.

I know about the XP, but when the PC boots the bios screen should be displayed on both ports until drivers are loaded. This card will not post bios in one DVI slot.
Now I've had a couple of X1XXX products in my lab and they all post on both DVI's, so I'm pretty sure its a flaw.

You're absolutely right, the card does post on both DVI's if no drivers are installed but after driver install it only posts on the Primary DVI. Very strange,it has'nt happened to me with any other card.
EDIT: Disabeling PNP or resetting bios doesn solve it for me, only a driver uninstall or an added monitor.
