DVI or VGA out?

I have a 9800 and have been using the VGA out to my monitor. After surfing here today it has started me thinking, which output from my card should I use to my monitor? The card came with an adaptor to covert the DVI to VGA which I would in turn plug into the monitor cable.

If you don't have a DVI input on your monitor (you didn't specify what KIND of monitor you have, CRT or LCD - CRTs don't have digital inputs), then using the DVI >> VGA converter won't do much for picture quality, and it could even make it worse.

DVI is pure digital, so it tends to work better with LCDs that have DVI inputs.

Hope this helps,

Well thanks. I have a MAG 19" CRT that I am very pleased with. Just curious what the difference might be.
