I am going to purchase a lcd today or tomorrow. I was just wondering if there was a quality difference between the both my setup is below i was planning on getting a
ACER AL1916ASD but the analog version is 50.00 cheaper

DVI makes text look much, much nicer. On analog, black text on a gray background gives the text a shadow effect. With DVI that isn't present, it's very clear.

Definately !

DVI-D makes everything MUCH sharper, eliminates pixel shimmering, no need to hit autoset whenever the resolution changes and the stupid analog input doesn't adjust for the right fequency causing bluriness.

I bought the ACER DVI wow it is much bigger (had a 17" crt) I have so much more space on my desk it's weird. I kind of like it I think I am used to a CRT too much but the more I use it the more I like it. came with a DVI cable too

does anyone else have this monitor? In the menus control I can't access the top row 2nd and third options is that normal??

what do laptops use for their screens? analog?

Its usually some form of a proprietary digital connection, sometimes the standard low voltage differential signal (LVDS).
