DVI Dimness Problem

I have a BFG 6800GT AGP and ive been running it on a 19 inch lcd monitor through DVI for a little while. It's the Hyundai L90D+. Starting a few days ago, when i turn on my monitor after its been off for a few hours, it seems really really dim. I thought it was just the brightness setting on my monitor, but when i went into the settings, the little window with all the monitor settings was at normal brightness. I thought it must have been my card, so i connected my laptop to the d-sub in my monitor, and everything showed up at normal brightness. I switched back and forth between DVI and d-sub, and dvi was still dim, while d-sub was bright. I then connected both the DVI and d-sub to my 6800gt, and same thing. One bright, one dim. I've concluded that either my DVI cable is messed up, or the DVI slot on my card is messed up. Has anyone had a problem similar to this at all? and if so, what was your solution?


My computer specs:
Mobo- ECS Intel848p chipset
Intel P4 3.2Ghz w/HT
1gig of RAM
420watt psu
i dont know what else to put
