I'm working on building a new HTPC, and I plan to buy an HDTV before the end of the year. For the time being, I have an older videocard that has an RCA output. Buy when I move to the HDTV, I want to have a better option than using RCA.

I believe in Linux using Component, you're limited to 720.

I've seen DVI->HDMI cables. Would this work if my HDTV had HDMI and my videocard had DVI? Would I be limited in any way?
