Could someone tell me which DVI cable to use to connect my 9800 pro to my HD tv?

I have looked on a couple of websites and I see that there are a couple different types.

Also, why are those things so damn expensive when you go to someplace like Best Buy or Circuit City?

That's if he wants to hook his PC up to his TV using the component inputs. I'm guessing he wants to use the dvi input on his TV. For that, you'll need a DVI-D cable, and something like powerstrip to allow you to define the non standard resolution your TV uses (like 1280x720). You can probably use regular PC resolutions and have your TV scale it to the right size, but you won't get the benefit of 1 to 1 pixel mapping.

Lindy sells some very nice DVI cables for a heck of a lot less that Best Buy:

Jbark, Please explain to me the use of a powerstrip to define the resolution. I would have thought that I could adjust that on the PC or the TV. It never would have occured to me that I would need an extra piece of equipment to pull this off.

Thanks

powerstrip is a program that can adjust your PC to display non-standard resolutions. you'll need it so that you can display the correct resolution for the tv

thought I might add that for free you can use RAGE 3D TWEAK and it allows non standard resolutions as does Powerstrip it also overclocks like Powerstrip.
If your Radeon has a DVI port use it dont use that flimsy adaptor then a SVGA to DVI cable adaptor. Thats just silly. DVI to DVI cables are cheap at Newegg
