I just bought a Samsung 930B LCD and I heard DVI is better to use but they cost to much at the store. Anyone know of a place online or elsewhere to get one for a good price thats good?

is there any difference really between the expensive ones and cheaper ones? How are the dvi cables that come with dell lcd's? Im finding those for pretty cheap on ebay.

I can sell you the one that came with my Viewsonic for $10 shipped if you would like:)....I never used it:)

I feel lucky my monitor came with the dvi cable this Acer is a very good value for the money I got the al1916asd 700:1 8ms 19" for 200.00. I see even more detail now in games compared to my CRT

Another vote for monoprice, a 10th the price of anywhere else for better cables most the time.

i second this statement, i have the same monitor and it came with a DVI cable. all the cables are shielded so unless they have gold connectors i wouldnt waste your money on anything fancy.

Unless you are a die hard LCD enthusiast I doubt you would be able to see a difference.

I was going to mention monoprice, but I have gotten some cables from them which I did not like (IE the end connectors of a cable would not securely stay in a device). I have yet to get a bad cable from bluejeans.
Going by the pics alone i'd say monoprice carries lots of crappy cables. Their dvi and hdmi cables on the other hand have been thoroughly tested by AVS freaks, and they all seem to give them a thumbs up.

The only difference I have found is their tolerances to stay plugged intoi a device. Some cables (IE HDMI ones) seem looser than others. I have found the ends on bluejeans cables fit more snugly than other generic ones.

Do I need Dual-Link or Single-Link?
This depends on your equipment. Check with your equipment documentation. If you are not sure which you need then purchase the Dual-Link cables. Dual-Link cables are backwards compatible with Single-Link so they will work with both connection types.

The dual-link are used for very high resolution monitors. A single link can easily do 1920x1080 for sure. You mostly see the dual-link used on 30" monitors in 2500xWhatever type resolutions. Note that the screen size does not matter in any way, its simply a matter of resolution, at some point you are trying to send too much data through too small of a pipeline.

edit: I would also like to add that radioshack had a dual link dvi cable for $10 when I was in store last. I bought the last one. I checked back a week later since i need yet another but they still hadn't restocked. At any rate, the shack could do you well if you wanted to pick one up now or without shipping.

I have a Dell one I could sell ( I liked the pretty gold on the Dual link cable mono sells)
