dvi and hdmi length limitations

hey, im trying to route my computer into a closet which is about 15 feet away. this computer is just too noisy. anyways i have the usb extensions planned out, and i also have purchased some 20ft hdmi cables for the monitor routing. i tested the cables out and the monitors recieved a very weak signal. any suggestions?

What gauge wires are in the HDMI cables? Maybe try something with a higher gauge.

Monoprice has a lot of different options to choose from at reasonable prices.

I've seen reccomendations to use "blue jeans cable" for long HDMI runs. They claim to have their "BJC Belden Series-1" cables certified for high-speed to 25 feet. It's quite pricey though.

Why is it so noisy? The fan? Try using a different cooling solution? That may be better for your computer and won't need you to move it so far. 2 birds with 1 stone?
