+ and - are just 2 different kinds of DVD-media. Each have their advantages and disadvantages... but basically, they're not too different. If your burner supports + and -, then you should be fine with whatever DVD media you purchase. There are lots of good articles, FAQ's and links at www.dvdrhelp.com.
The link given above will no doubt describe it in much detail, but I have always been made to believe that + is optimised for video, while - is for data. Correct me if im wrong
Note: you can burn whatever you want to either of the two and it will work fine.
