DVD to VCD/SVCD

Sorry if this was question already but I searched about 10 pages back and didn't see anything. I'm currently using DVD Magic for copying a DVD to VCD. I have incountered a few disc's that do not copy. Can you guys tell me what programs that you are using that have been working? I like the ease of DVD Magic so if there's something out there that is simple I would like to try it. I do not have a DVD-R/RW drive so it would have to be something that converts using CD-R/RW drive. Thanks in advance.
 
Few questions first....

1. Do you even have a DVD-ROM drive?
2. WHY.
 
1. Yes
2. Because I would like to play in my home DVD player rather than my computer. My player plays VCD.
