I want something free with plenty of options for me to mess with for converting my DVDs into iPod compatible movies. Heck, just a good DVD Ripper would be nice, as I can just use Videora to convert them.
 
Well, AutoGK is a great start. It can convert almost anything TO Xvid / DivX. Once it is in that format, there is a plethora of programs available to edit and convert.
