Hi! I'm looking forward to buy a DVD Burner. In the past, I had a NEC ND-3540A and was very satisfied.

Should I go with the ND-3550A or with the BenQ DW1655?
Is lightscribe worth it (that's the only major difference between the two...)?

Lightscribe will require you to buy special blank DVDs to make use of it. My laptop has it and I've not used it once.

I had an NEC for several years before switching to my current SATA drive, a Plextor 755SA which I love dearly.

Of those 2, if I had to pick, I'd prolly grab the NEC just because I never had a single issue with mine ever.
 
The BenQ 1650 is a non-lightscribe 1655. Also, its a couple bucks cheaper. for the burn quality, I'd visit the BenQ camp for a bit....
