DVD-RW booting issue

I've had this DVD-RW since Christmas, and it's worked fine, but with a recent upgrade I've had some troubles.

If i don't use the RW drive, the computer boots fine, i've got stuff installed, so it's all good.
When i have the RW drive plugged in and everything, it acts as a slave to my DVD drive, and the computer gets to the point where it says "Boot from CD drive" twice, one for each drive, and it just hangs at the second one, which is the RW. Any idea what would cause it to hang? I know i have it set to slave, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Make sure you set the jumpers on the drives correctly. I would just set one on master and the other as slave just to be on the safe side. Then head to the BIOS and disable the optical drive under boot device priority. Just have it boot from the HD instead.
