I had this problem start randomly a few weeks ago. Every time I stick a DVD in my drive my computer will hard restart itself, just crash and re-boot. I don't remember changing any settings but I'm sure its my fault. If I turn of auto-play on the drive, it will not happen, but that's only avoiding the problem, not fixing it. Drive is the Lite-On 8x DVD burner (LDW-811s).

Any ideas. Thanks for any help.

I would say it's either the DVD software your using, or the drive is having some sort of hardware failure. I would lean towards software, so check your event logs. Also, try the drive in another computer.
