for some reason when i play dvds on fast moving stuff it seems pixelated, especially noticable on cartoons like family guy and simpsons.
do i have some settings wrong or something, i dont know much i know i have tried to change the deinterlacing settings to help, ive tried pixel adaptive, median and bob. ive also tried with dma setting on and off and still seems kinda jaggy, and if i go full screen its even worse.

my setup is dual xeon 3.6 with ati x600 graphics card, 2 gig ram
monitor is dell 2405 fpw 24" lcd

when i play off a dvd player through component inputs the pictures fine. i know my graphics card sucks but ive played dvds fine on other systems alot worse than this with alot better quality

this prob has nothing to do with your vid card. which dvd decoder are you using? do you use ffdshow? do you have it set up correctly? or do you use nvidia purevideo? these are the 2 best, both work with wmp and purevideo will work with an ati card. how is your panel connected? dvi or analog? what res are you using? if you use ffdshow you can double dvd resolution to 1440x960 if your cpu can handle it, and yours probably can. you can probably get better answers on the htpc board on this forum, or go to the htpc news forums.
good luck.

Purevideo will work on an ATI card, but it's advanced deinterlacing and 3:2 detection will not work on anything but Nvidia cards 6200 and up. This sounds like a decoder problem.

i didnt have ffdshow on yet cause im just getting my system setup, i installed it and didnt make a difference, maybe i need to configure it but dont really know what the best settings would be.

and my monitor is conected by a dvi cable
