DVD Playback Woes

Hello,

I'm having trouble with a system I've built. Here are the important specs:

MOBO: Supermicro X6DAE-G2
Processors: 2x Intel Xeon 3.0EA GHz with EMT 64
DDR2 RAM: 4x 512mb (2GB total) Crucial, Intel certified
IDE Drives: 1x Maxtor 80gb, 2x DVD +/- RW drives
SATA Drivers: 2x Western Digital 250 GB drives
Video: Radeon X800 XT PCI-express
PCI slot 1: TV-tuner card
PSU: Fortron 550W EPS12V
OS: Winxp sp2

PROBLEM: Whenever I try to play a DVD the program I'm using crashes, i.e. it sends an error report. I've tried 3 different DVDs and 4 different players with the same results.

Is this some sort of codec problem?
