Had a quick question, I bought a black case not to long ago and some reason didnt think about my dvd front panels were beige. What should I use to paint them and make em look my case, which is a glossy black? Spray paint? pen? someone else mustve done this before?
 
best bet would be to paint them. try some vinyl dye. i hear that stuff is better than spray paint since it actually bonds to the plastic and wont show the original color of the drives when scratched. Someone please correct me if im wrong.
 
Easiest to use is vinyl dye, but you won't get glossy with that.

Only way to get glossy is to paint it, with lots of loving care in prep and finish time. I might also recommend to use some bondo or something to fill in all the little gaps (DVD-ROM logo, etc.) to help get a nice smooth glossy surface.

the krylon plasti-kote paint is awesome. im not sure if thats the exact name though...
or does dupont make it...i forget
i'll have to check when i get home and look at the paint can
 
Depending on how you use the vinyl dye, you can actually get it to look a little glossy. In my experience, the closer the can is (The thicker the dye goes on), the glossier it will be. But don't put it on too thick, or you'll get runs and stuff.
 
What would happen if you vinyl-dyed it and then hit it with a spray polyurethane to get a gloss?

i did that!! turned out pretty decent, of course i suck at painting so i had to sand it and do it over once, but really it looks nice with some poly-u on there.
