DVD Drive Not Reading DVD's

I have a Samsung DVD drive that I recently installed and it doesnt read any DVD movies I put in it.It does read regular CDs and it reads DVD-ROMS ( Half Life 2 Install disc) but not movies. Any ideas?
 
Do you have any DVD movie software installed? Usually without a codec (like from PowerDVD or WinDVD) your system won't do much with movie DVDs.

However, give videoLAN a try. It's free, and pretty much plays anything, so have it play your DVD movies.

I have WinDVD installed and Nvidia's NV Decoder installed. Some DVD's play but most of the new DVD's i've tried ( Troy, LOTR ROTK, LOTR FOTR) dont work. The computer says there isnt a disc in the drive. I'm trying to get this to work so I can rip the DVD's and put them on my PSP. Its weird how only some are found by the computer.
