My ati 9000 all in wonder won't install the dvd player software b/c it says it can't find a dvd decoder... it asks me to put the original dvd decoder cd in my drive and then it will find it and install the decoder but I have no idea what it is talking about. It isn't a big issue b/c I just installed windvd xp and it runs the dvds fine but I was just wanting to find out what I'm missing from my system that it can't find the dvd decoder....

The dvd rom drive is a 16X liteon... system specs..
A7N8X deluxe ultra, XP2500, 1gig PC3200, 380Watt Antec, 2X160gig SATA, 9000 all in wonder.

You don't know what it's talking about? It clearly says to put in the original CD that came with it. It will then install the DVD decoder, so ATI's DVD player will work. I get the same error, but yet the DVD part still works. However, lately, I've downloaded the new version from the site, which asks for the old CD as proof of ownership. Then it downloads and installs the new DVD decoder.

To get around this, I installed a trial version of windvd or something like that.

Works like a charm now.

I bought the part OEM and put the only cd it came with in the rom drive but still no love... This is why I said I didn't know what it wanted b/c I tried what I thought was it... oh well.. yeah maybe I'll just stick with windvd or whatever might be nicer over all... thanks for the help...

thats good to hear... I'll just use the windvd xp I got with my liteon dvd player and be happy then... either way the dvd button on my remote opens the windvd player anyways so no real loss... thanks..
