Im hainvg audio trouble burning a DVD that plays fine using any dvd viewing software.

The files are in .IFO and .BUP and PowerDVD files. I tried using Ulead DVD movie factory but is says the sound is imcompatable and i was wondering what program i might want to be using instead.

Thanks for the help in advance

(this is General [H]ardware). As far as the substance of your inquiry is concerned, I don't know. But you would probably have better luck in a different forum.

I personally like CloneDVD by Elby. To keep it legal Ollie did not put in a ripping tool. I just use Smartripper to back up my DVDs.

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but I think Im in the same ballpark here.

I also have a problem with my DVD backup. I have DVDXCopy Platinum, however out of the 3 DVDs Ive tried it on, it only took one, the first one that I tried. Its been giving me coasters ever since, and I mean like 4 seconds into the burning process, just enough to make it a trashed disc.

What should I do? I have DVDShrink, and I decoded one through that, and tried to burn with Nero, and I got more errors. Then I tried Alcohol 120%, and this is what I came up with, after the error of course...

Im not using wrong media at all. I have an LG Super Writer, its supposed to be able to burn anything, so that shouldnt be the problem. What can I do to get this to take?

Thanks in advance.

7.5 GB, I know it sucks...but Ive been trying to get this figured out literally ALL DAY, and Im not having a whole lot of luck. Ill check out that thread though.

i just upgraded the firmware to 302...and Im gonna test some more stuff tomorrow. Any more suggestions are definitely welcome

ok, heres the deal. I have the movie ripped on my HardDrive, all is well there. I can acutally run it with Power DVD, and induce subtitles and what not. The only issue Im having is whenever any program I use burns, it burns for about 10 seconds, tells me its done, and poops out a coaster of a DVD-R. Thank God for simulation mode. Anyone know what Im doing wrong?

try using a different ripping program such as dvd decryptor, or smart ripper. If that doesnt work, look into the media you are using.

I have a sony dru510a, and whenever i use memorex dvd-r's i get similiar symptoms you do, now that ive switched to tdk's dvd-rs i get none.

would it help if I were to switch to DVD+Rs or DVD-RAM? I have the capability to do both. Do you think that would up my success rate?

DVD-RAM doesn't play in any dvd player/software, and switching to dvd+r wont solve your problem.

My suggestion is to use DVD Decrypter and create an iso of the dvd, then mount that with daemon tools and use DVD Shrink to get the disk to fit on a 4.7 GB dvdr.

ok, ill certainly give that a try, thanks for the tip. Sooner or later Im gonna have this...

well, I took your advice, and Ive ended up with 2 more coasters that pooped out on me at about 10 seconds in each. This problem better be my media. I have no problem making Data Backups, why the hell cant I do this? Im kinda pissed about this...sorry about sounding psycho.

just tried it again with Alcohol 120% and got this...

What does this mean??

probably means I need different media, considering I tried a new burning program called CloneDVD, and it did the same, and said I may wanna check the medium.

I just have to get new Discs I think.

Anyone?

What does this mean??

umm will that HL-DT-ST DVDRAM drive even burn DVD-r or DVD+R disks?

yeah its a superdrive, its supposed to burn all 7 media types, the CD types DVD types and DVD RAM. Ive actually backed up my computer onto the DVD-R discs, so I know that it can actually do it. And Ive backed up 1 movie, the first one that I tried, and that seemed to work out for me too. However after that, its just been an uphill battle.

Ive boughten new, recommended media for this drive, and still...the problems persist. I do have one nice piece of info though, even my simulations are failing. There is no way that has anything to do with my burner. My best guess is that my drivers or something in my registry is damaged or destroyed. How would I go about fixing this?

I live in Japan, and got the burner shipped to me from the US, because of Tech TVs great reccomendation of it. OOPS! on my part there I guess, unless this is indeed a driver issue. But anyways, I cant return it. If anyone can help me figure this out so I can actually back up movies...I would gladly pay you. Im that desperate here. 20 bones in PayPal money, goin' your way if you can figure this one out.

Thanks in advance. Im seriously about to punch someone in the throat over this one, Im that angry about it. I may indeed uninstall everything and then install again, who knows.

Then there is the fact that its an internal drive with an external case, and its plugged into my laptop...could that be a problem? Or is that just an easy way of saying try it on someone elses computer...ok, I'll try that, Im glad I thought of it. If that doesnt work though...Im very open for suggestions.

you could do what i do whenever there is a problem and just reformat the computer and reinstall everything :) its probably a non neccessary overkill, but it always fixes my problems.

ok the chances are thats what Im working with, as I'm gonna give that a go in the next few days if all else fails. Thanks!
