Dvd burning slows down ?? Is it broken?

it usually takes 7-10 mins for the actual burning process on my 8x burner.

now its taking 1hr+. is my burner messed up? how can i fix this?

i have never changed any settings. i am using dvdxcopy.
 
There prolly is but I'll suggest buying a new one, they're not that much;) Grab a lite-on from newegg.com
 
Using different media / blank DVDs that are 1 or 2 X speed rated?
