Dusty Case

All the fans in my case are extrememly dusty, including my zalman 7000 Al-Cu. Does anyone know how i could clean them off really well?!

compressed air?? get 3- 4 cans of compressed air and just blow them all
blow your psu
heatsink fins
fans
keyborad
and dont forget, if the can gets too cold, open the other can and use the other can while the cold can cools down

Can also use your own lungs and blow it out. Will save ya money.. and even if ya did use canned air, your comp will get dusty again.

Have also heard of people actually hosing the computer down.

Yeah, you can blow in the case, but you run risk of blowing a little spit onto something delicate. If you value your comp, spend the couple of bucks and just get a can of air.

Canned air is clean, dry, and easy to control. Plus, no matter how good you are at blowing you can never blow as hard as a can of air.

Not if ya know how to blow..

Also.. ya can use a brush to get the dust up.

IIRC, there was an article on the net saying that dust is toxic. So you might want to stay away from it.

why would you want a "cold" can to "cool down"??

i used to use a can of compressed air but some places blowing air cannot remove the dust... now i just a soft brush and a vacuum cleaner, a LOT more efficient and really cleans off the dust... altho compressed air is a lot easier just aim and spray but it doesnt really clean off the dust

Im a big fan of a damp cloth for the case itself, and a compressor, (even one of those hand pumps used to srpay weeds and what not if it is new) hold down anyting that moves and spray the entire case, then whipe down the rest, and got at it with a light brush, Q-tip, or your fingers to get the rest

You could use an air compressor, if you have one it makes it alot easier to blow out, and it has enough air to blow most of the dust out.

I wouldn't suggest this, aircompressors can sometimes put oil or water into the air they blow out.

And i was also wondering about lettin a cold can "cool down"

Yeah but there is a warning on the can isn't there. Unless you want to freeze something (which can be fun) or yourself, i suggest following directions

What do you think you are breathing now? Dust perhaps? You would have to be in a room around some pretty nasty stuff in order to get some noticibly toxic dust.

I wouldn't expect ya to inhale right after blowing out the computer anyhoo.. but I guess anything goes.
