I am annoyed with the dust problem with my case CM 690. Can someone suggest me some 3rd party dust filters that can by fitted with it? Although I vaccume it every month, still is there anyway i can minimize the dust by using some additional components?

At this point of time its not possible for me to replace it wilth Antec 300 illusion or 902, so what is the best i can do with my present case
 
I think the problem is that you vacuum once a month. In my computer room, I started to vacuum once or sometimes two a week and it made a huge difference on dust.
 
Where do you think the dust is entering from? I own 2 CM690 cases, and I really don't have that much dust accumulating (one of them is my home server, up 24x7).. The slot cover have filter on them, and so does the front intake..

dust doesn't enter a case through an exhaust fan.

if there's dust accumulation on the inside of the case near the fan, that just means there is a lot of dust in your case, and it just jams up at that spot (probably on the inside of the fan grill?).
 
I'm not home so can't check "favorites" but recently I came across some die-cut magnetic (weak magnetic) dust-filter holders that would hold a filter material in place, and you just peel it off to clean the filter and then slap it back on over the now-clean filter material. They claimed the magnetic field was so weak there'd be no problems. You should be able to google it. I'll try to remember to post the link when I get back home.

Also consider where your case is positioned. if you have it sitting on the floor whether its carpet or bare it will suck in alot of dust. Get it off the floor. Also if you have it in a cubby hole in your desk it will also get very dusty quickly as the dust will circulate from the back of the desk. I have my case out on the top of my desk, I can go several months before I have to clean it, well not even have to but I do anyway.
So heres my tips for keeping a case clean:
Get it off the floor! it will suck in Dust bunnies like crazy.
Get it out of that cubby hole that desk makers put on there "Computer" desks!
Get out the Vacum and clean up behind your desk! Use the hose and clean up around the powerstrips and wires, tons of dust will gather there.
Get a duster and use it several times a week! Electronics attract dust because of there fans and because of the high air flow. I use a Swifter 360 duster almost daily to clean off my desk and entertainmant center.
Don't rely on dust filters! if your computer is dusting up quickly all dust filters will do is clog up even quicker and cause airflow problems.

Dust filters are useful for lessening amount of dust getting into case and being esier to clean than insides, they're just not substitute for actually cleaning up the room.
 
You need to setup positive air pressure inside your case so that there is more air blowing in through the intake fans than blowing out, that way, any holes or gaps or vents or grills in your case will actually push air out instead of dragging dust in. That way, you can also put a filter on the primary intake fan and ensure that is the only way air is going in.
 
Things that will help:

1) Make sure it is off the floor
2) Stretch ladies tights over the intakes (I use these on my Antec900 intakes and things are much improved), or buy filters for the PC.
3) vacuum regularly
4) use a room air filter that blows clean air towards the PC.
5) get carpets that create less particles and trap dust better (so dust can get vacuumed up instead of becoming air borne).

An air ionizer (negative ion / anion) may help reduce fine particulate dust but can make the problem worse too depending on its position relative to the PC.
Ionized dust particles are attracted to anything with a positive charge or earthed conductors such as walls, ceilings, carpets that arent also anion charged..., making your room dustier (or wherever the air flows to / through).
Now this is fine if the dust has already left the air before it gets to your PC case, but if it hasnt, it can increase dust levels inside the PC as it is essentially a big earthed conductor with many positively charged points too!

Stockings, tights, not sure what you call them, I'm in the UK.
They are the thin very stretchy leggings that ladies (and some men) wear to make their legs look smoother/browner.
 
But how do you fix it on your Intake? I have one more doubt, one of my friend suggested me I shouldn't use vacuum cleaners on any of the hardware as it generates static. I should rather use isopropyl alcohol with 90% alcohol content to clean the heatsinks and the thermal paste, good old fashioned non static brush and can of compressed air instead.

According to him, if someone are going to follow the "oh so far I haven't had any problem when I used my vacuum cleaner so I will keep on using it" philosophy, some drugged dimwitted illiterate idiots also claim that they didn't get any diseases from drinking dirty water, eating street food, not having bath and eating raw meat. If you think about it, the philosophy and the type of people implementing it are the same.

Remove the heatsink to clean it with compressed air if you are worried about static.

To fit pantyhose, stretch it over the intake fan covers on the outside of your PC case, this keeps a lot of dust from entering your case.
It will hook onto anything pointy or you can secure it with screws that are already there.

This. I vacuum my room like 5 times a year and I can visibly see the amount of dust in the air. Clean your room weekly and the amount of dust build up in your computer will drop drastically.
