Has anyone tried making an air filter for a computer? Is it just silly?

I'd like to try something along these lines, even if it's crazy, unless someone else out there has and found that it's just a failiure waiting to be dremelled.

Has anyone ever put an automotive air filter in their computer, something that's designed to pop out and clean easily.

you can buy dust filters you know...just about anywhere.

Yes the 3-piece fan filter has been around for probably as long as electrical equipment needed fans. You don't see them much around because they are ugly, and ugly server tech is long been out of style in the modding "society".

To answer your question, yes, it has been done before... Various times... Nothing wrong with it really, but usually obtrusive because they are not the smallest filters you can get... Just use common sense and look for a filter that will fit your needs. Otherwise of course mod the case to fit such a thing.
