I'm trying to figure out wassup with this. Here's the full story. I was on my pc before watching some movie during a thunderstorm (I didn't have a surge protector then). So, then my monitor goes black and the LED on it goes yellow, but the PC is still running. So I turn it off and start up again. It loads at 1.2ghz as default, and I have to go into BIOS to change it, so I do. I put it back to default 2.4ghz, and then when it restarts with the new changes, the screen goes black and the LED on the monitor goes Yellow, but the PC is still running. So i reset BIOS and run the computer at 1.2ghz for a while...until I get sick of it and finally try a BIOS Flash. I used Abit's FlashMenu to do it in windows, and it finished with no errors. It tells me I have tor eboot so I do, and ever since then I've been getting the same problem. I reboot the computer, anf it loads up to the CPU readout, right before the RAM Read out. It just reads that the 2.4ghz is running at 2.4ghz (and not the standard after resetting a bios which is 1.2ghz) and just locks up after saying that Hyper Threading is enabled (which is also off by standard after resetting BIOS). The Keyboard is dead so I can't get into BIOS to change anything, and I can't use ctrl+alt+del to reboot the pc. Nothing. So I give the CPU:RAM:MOBO to my bro to test it out at wqork. He tells me he tested it and gives everything back saying the mobo is at fault. So I RMA, and after 2 weeks I get the mobo. I instal it hook everything up and same shit again, pauses after CPU Read out. I've tried unlugging everything but the ATX, same crap. Then tried another PSU, same thing. What else could it possibly be? The only devices in my PCI is the SCSI Controller, and in the AGP is my GF4 Ti4600. then the onyl other possibilities would be the CPU, RAM. What do you guys think this might be?

From what it sounds like, I would guess that your mobo is dead, but since that's been tried, I would say it's the RAM. What is the FSB/multiplier when running at 1.2ghz when compared to stock? Run memtest86 at 1.2ghz and see if you get anything.

It doesn't post far enough for me to run anything. It llocks up not 2 seconds before the post starts. Right after rading out the CPU it locks, rigt before the RAM readout.
