Well I recently built my budget build and has been running fine for awhile but recently a couple of time.. while watching streaming video.. the video would get distorted and then i would minimize out of it and the mouse icon gets all glitched up. Then the monitor goes all black.. no beeps or restarts.. but the desktop is still running. Is my video card overheating or something? I'm not really putting a heavy load on it. After I reboot works fine again.. happens every once in awhile when watching streaming video.
 
Streaming videos is likely CPU since GPU flash offloading isn't mainstream (still in beta only version I believe). However given how just monitor goes black does make you suspect the GPU. Does that mean your video's audio is still going?
 
well im using a GT120 and audio is being outputted from the sound card via spdif connector. When the screen goes black no more audio.
