dump Antec for Lian Li

Guys........

right now I have this case: Antec P160
would you consider dumping it for the Lian Li here?

That Lian Li its a lot of money, specially here in Canada, but are there any real advantages for a BTX setup ? (the next setup, A64, 939...etc) will be water cooled....)

hmm that is a little too big for me...
I'm looking for water cooling mainly to reduce noise by a fair amount!
 
well I have already the Antec, but I was thinking of changing it, if its worth it......
 
As an owner of the P160, I don't think it's worth it. I did a lot of research before I decided on the Antec. BTX is a long ways off from becoming standard, and I couldn't justify spending $200+ on a case. The Antec's noise-reducing features, top mounted USB/1394 ports, twin 120mm fans, and dual temperature sensors all made sense to me.
 
I've got a few Lian Li case parts sitting here and I'm pretty impressed with them, if I wasn't building my own case right now I'd totally get one.

BTW you think you'll sell that P160? I need to get a side panel from one. ;)
 
I'd dump that antec for the lian li in a heartbeat. You can't beat the build quality of a real metal case by lian li over the chrome plated plastic on the antec. If you're getting it for looks as well as functionality, then you have to decide which you like the looks of better. As for watercooling to reduce noise, you're still going to have a fan in the water cooling radiator. You'll probably get better temperatures, but you can have very quiet air cooled cases if you use the right fans. Its hard to tell my computers are on if the room isn't totally silent around them and they move tons of cfm almost silently.
 
These are two highly different classes, I hardly think it is fair to compare either one. The P160 will save you almost the amount of a GB of memory... That is totally worth considering. Not that I am putting my vote in for either, but other cases should be considered... This hardly seems apples to apples... Personally I would go with your own subjective needs of cost to looks to function ratio and then finally consider your modding abilities to make it look like you want it to. After all this is the modding thread...
 
That Lian-Li case is really nice. I went with the pc65b because I liked it more and because I hated the lil wheels on that case.

If ya like it though it is much nicer than that Antec ya got.

I say go for it.

This is one of the most ugliest cases I have ever seen. Antec's cases are very good, solid cases. Friend has P160, and its nothing wrong with it. It's big, has 120mm fans, it's definately more good loking than that Lian Li..

Exact case I have except mine is silver. I Dumped Coolermaster for Lia-Li. I wanted something bigger but stylish. The wavemaster that I have seemed really cool at first, but there isn't mush you can do to a pre-mod to make it look all custom. The Lian-Li PC70 chasis is like a blank canvas. You can do anything to it. Go with Lian-Li.
