I don't feel like spending $1 grand+ to find out (board, processor, ram, video cards) but, can you, if you have a board such as the A8N-SLI, or the upcoming tyan s2895 use two DIFFERENT pcie-16 cards? I am saying, what if I don't WANT sli...?

my current rig has an agp card and a pci card (pci card drives an additional display)

I'd ask asus, but.. if you go to their contact us page, it wants you to sign up an account ... except, there is no SIGNUP link! (it's not clickable)

I wish they could make a board with a real AGP and pci-e slot for nice upgradability and multi-displays, too bad the only solution is the terrible AGP-e on intel boards.

I don't see why you couldn't. And even if you couldn't, you could still use a regular pci vid card to drive a second display.

You can use two display cards on the A8N-SLi but you can not use two different cards in SLi mode.

Ok.. What I was basically looking at doing (the reason I asked this was not so much for the a8n-sli board, but for the tyan s2895

That board has 3 x 64bit pci's
2 x pciE x16s
and 1 x pci 32bit

My master plan for now is.. :

Get that board when It ships.

Stick a highend card in 1 slot (FireGL V7100) to do my heavy video editing work
put a lowend card in 2nd slot (for webbrowsing, etc.. something like the x600 or maybe even lower end)
the pci slot is getting my "very" highend soundcard

id imagine thered be driver conflicts...but then again theres 2 different devives so *shrugs*
