mmm, well, here goes...I was wondering where i might find a good guide to the actual meanings of the letters at the end of the processor name. I know what they are just can't seem to find the guide i looked at last time...

would anyone like to help?

Hey check your post about your Registered Name

Cheers,

PS turn on your PM

mmm, tks, tho i already reinstalled Windows and fixed what i wanted...

btw, i knew about changing the registry but i thought it was only possible in NT...i have XP

Also...what i was asking for in this thread is an explanation of the letters after processor speeds. ie 2.4A Ghz. I know they are different models of the pentium 4 with different cache sizes, and fsb speeds, but i was just wondering if anyone knew a good site with an explanation?

PS ty for replies

1.3GHz-2.0Ghz with no letter are Willamette cores
A is a Northwood with 512KB cache and 400Mhz bus
B is a Northwood core with 533MHz bus speed
C is a Northwood core with 800MHz bus speed
D ??? Are these the Prescotts with a 533MHz bus?
E is a Prescott core with 800MHz bus

A - Northwood/512KB Cache/400MHz FSB & Prescott/1MB Cache/533MHz FSB
B - Northwood/512KB Cache/533MHz FSB/HT (3.06GHz ONLY)
C - Northwood/512KB Cache/800MHz FSB/HT
E - Prescott/1MB Cache/800MHz FSB/HT
