I think Duke would win because hes just a badass. However, I liked playing quake more because it was one of the first 3d fps's (or was it the first?) and that added to the atmosphere, which I loved immensely.
 
Duke, hands down. Cause he can taunt you to death. The only thing the Quake guy did was grunt when he got hurt.

Plus Duke IMO has better weapons and would just clean house. Freeze gun? Shrink ray?

What's the Quake guy have thats unique? An axe? A lightening gun?

Sure, if Duke was in water the Quake guy would have an upper hand with the lightening gun, but what good does it do if your frozen and the size of a mouse?

Duke's world was overrun by pigs, PIGS!!! He was too busy at the stipper joints to notice. The marine on the other hand is still fightin the hard fight, pushing the invaders back to their planet.
 
There was no serious sam option so I voted for duke, because they're similar in spirit.

I totally, utterly, completely concur!
 
Since Duke really only has eight different directions he can face (due to being made of sprites instead of polys), the Quake guy could sneak up to him in between those angles and fill him full of nails.
 
Quakeguy kicks Dukes butt all over the place! I can't remember where I read this years ago, but Quakeguy ran at something like 90mph relative to the game world! Not to mention the Quake rocket launcher is hands down the best weapon EVAR in a FPS game. IMHO of course :)

What about the finger rockets from Duke3D? 10 rockets at a time ? Lets not forget about shrink rays, jetpacks and strippers!! This was in like 1995 or something.

And you know what other gun that was cool was the Microwave Expander but I never got to use it because it was only available in the Plutonium edition and I've only ever had the regular version of DN3D.

mmmmm microwave expander...

I thought the shotgun in Duke Nukem 3D was most satisfying... had a nice "BOOM" sound followed by a cha-chink reload.

I remember when I ordered Duke Nukem 3D, they stopped selling it and instead shipped me the Atomic Edition (D3D + Plutonium expansion).

I still say that regardless of Quake Guys 1 extra dimension that he'd get eaten alive by Duke. I mean seriously, who is going to be threatened and intimidated by a three dimensional mute with an axe?

I certaintly wouldn't be. Besides, because Duke is a sprite he's definitely a lot harder to hit with a 3 dimensional weapon that and the Quake guy can never get behind him because sprites always face you. And that brings me to another point, Duke can fit in places that Quake guy can't so Duke can be super secret Ninja like and squeeze through cracks to get at Quake guy and then disappear as quickly as he appeared.

Duke's got a whole mess of stuff better than the muted Quake guy. The weapons, the ability to speak and insult the Quake guy to make him cry, no bulky third dimension tying him down to areas that he can fit in.
 
Duke says to poor little quake guys splattered remains ; "Your Face, Your A$$, What's The Difference?!!"..

They were both really great games for the time.. I still play DN3d from time to time because of the great gameplay, and awesome one liners..

Tough call, but I'm going with Duke simply because he's a Bruce Campbell ripoff. ;)
 
Hmm both these guys are noobies. Would get totally owned by Garrett. Hell even Sam Fischer would hit them before they even knew what happened...

But that quake guy. He doesn´t even have a personality who even bothers about that guy. That people call him "Quake" says everything. Nobody even knows his name and noone has seen his face.

Sorry, but Duke's the only guy I know that's ever threatened to rip a dude's head off, and shit down his throat - and follow it up!
 
Duke all the way. Quake didn't really do it for me. It was just another run & gun. Duke has comedy, it's fun.

Quake and all the clones/cheap knockoff's just suck. Unreal was better than Quake 2. Unreal Tourney was better than Quake3. The list goes on and on.
