Dud?

Just built a new system and I am really new to OCing. Everything is set up and running fine at stocks speeds. So I figured I would see about overclocking it a bit.

System specs:
DFI Nf4 Ultra-D
AMD 3500+ Winchester
1 Gb PC3200 Corsair XMS Low Latency(v1.2 which is TCCD I think)

I dropped the multiplier to 9x and dropped HTT multi to 4x then attempted to increase FSB.
Best I could get was 221 stable. I tried for 230 and it reboots when it tries to get into Windows and at 225 it runs but gets errors in SuperPi and Prime95. I thought I would be able to get higher than that. I see people with similar setups getting close to 250/260. Im guessing my memory just doesn't want to overclock much.

What should my next step be? should I try setting up a different divider on the memory instead of 1:1?

set memory ratio to 166 (5/6) and I still get a lockup at 230... so I reckon this is a CPU issue?

no, the cpu will be underclocked until 245mhz htt
sounds like a limit of the board, of something in your config is holding it back.

thanks eclipse... way too many settings in DFI Ultra-D bios to figure out which one... I'll hit up DFI-street and see if I can get some help there. If anyone else has any ideas I would sure appreciate them.
