Has anyone seen any novel Ducting solutions? I want to make sure my cpu is cooled by outside air. Have a 120MM fan intake on the side of my case thats not exactly on top of it, but close enough. What material could I make a duct out of? Any ideas or links that people have seen?
I have a Vantec Aeroflow on my 2000+XP now, as well as two 80MM intake on the front, and two 80MM exhaust out of the back, as well as the two (one intake on inside, and one exhaust on the outside) exhausting through the power supply. The 120MM is a new addition, currently it just kinda blows all over the motherboard.
I don't want to have the duct only blow directly into the fan as I think that might cause some issues. More like a baffle kind of setup where the 120MM blows through a duct that ends an inch or two before and "directs" fresh air in the general area of the CPU fan. Preliminary tests (with my holding the 120MM towards the CPU give me a 3 degree celsius drop at idle and a degree or two at load, and I bet I can get another degree or two if it were set up this way.
