Get the sony fw-900 if you have the desk space. Enjoy current gen games at 1920x1200 res. and scale back to 1600x1000 when newer stuff comes out :D . You can scale back even further and up the details if you wanted. No native resolution to hold you back.

No but see that's the thing that's really great about the 2407WFP. If you have an nvidia graphics card. You can choose nVidia's scaling so that when you pick 1600x1200 it scales perfectly with black bars on the sides.

I'm playing Prey right now @ 1600x1200 and it looks great!

Then the 2407WFP is the monitor for you, you will love it trust me :)

Go with dual widescreens. My computing experience has been positively affected with my setup.

Ahh, but what is great about the fw-900, no black bars :). Crisper colors, High refresh rate, no input lag, no response time, etc. Plus it's cheaper. Only drawback is that it's big and uses more energy than the 24" dell. However, it is superior graphically in nearly all areas (the dell wins in text however)

I voted for dual because you get so much more real estate with the duals versus the bigger single display. That's my $0.02.
