Dual vs Single Rad

Are their comparisons that compare a single 120mm Radiator vs a Dual Radiator? Basically I'm curious how much benefit a dual is vs a single when cooling a CPU and graphics card in a watercooling setup.
 
TOTALLY depends on the components you're cooling. Going from a single to a dual radiator, when cooling a Q6600 and an 8800GTX is the difference from "Zomg not stable + fire" to "moderately acceptable."

upgrading the rad will give you a larger heat capacity.

Unless you are using a Quad, or are using multiple waterblocks to cool various components, you might not see much of an improvement.

For a smaller heat overhead you could do better price/performance wise with upgrading the fan on your current single rad, or if using a large volumetric pusher perhaps a second fan? Examples would be a Delta EFB stacked on your current, (spins the opposite direction of regular fans so it can be stacked on another fan for an increase in airflow,) or another fan on the opposite side of the radiator.

All of this depends on your rig.

Well, unless you're using a 100cfm fan and a BIX radiator, chances are upgrading to a bigger radiator will help your temperatures quite a bit... Especially since he's got a GPU+CPU.
 
well put it this way

on my last WC rig I had a 2.6ghz Opteron X2 and a 1900xtx water cooled, on a single rad with a silenx fan on low, and the highest my cpu got was about 46,

now I have a Q6600, using a dual rad to cool my Q6600 and NB and I'm considering upgrading to a tripple or a higher rated double ^^

Radiators are so cheap you would do better price/performance wise to get a bigger radiator. You can get a 3x120mm radiator for 50$. Depending upon fans you could easily spend 20-60$ or more on that fans for said radiator.
 
i was using a single 120 rad on a core 2 duo a few months back and changed to a double and it didnt make much difference apart from a couple degrees, if ur using a cpu and gpu on a single 120 then upgrading will give you a worthy difference even to a dual 120.

like someone already said tho, completely depends on the setup.
