Well guys, I've been running a dual setup with an 8800gts (pci-e, evga 680i) with dual monitors. However, I would like to use a third monitor I have. I also have a 7600gt laying around. I figured it wouldn't work, but thought what the heck. No go, vista crashes when trying to install the drivers.

I assume this is because the differences in the video cards? Would another 8800gts (non-sli) correct this? Any thoughts?

should be able to use a 8800GTS with 7600GT in nonSLI just fine. I had a 7800GTX with a 6800GT for a long time with no issues.

UPDATE

no need to install extra drivers if you have the latest forceware drivers installed

Thank you for your response.

I'll guess I'll try a different driver. When I install my 7600GT, vista tried to install a driver automatically and BSOD's. I really didn't put any effort in it when I tried, but it's something I will do shortly ;)

thanks again.
