Dual Sound cards?

Sure. Although if you have Vista it already seperates the X-Fi into two sound devices (analog and S/PDIF), but it sounds like you have XP (in which case just enable your integrated audio).

I have vista

Good, so you should already be able to achieve what you're looking for without having to use integrated audio. Have application X's output set to DirectSound: Speakers and application Y's output set to DirectSound: S/PDIF Out.

the problem is, I want the higher quality analog for the analog speakers, without having to use the xfi front panel(platinum/f4t) and in vista it won't let me do both, in xp however, both always seem to work together,

I found a better solution my next mobo will have dual digital output, coax and optical, use coax for my z5500s and optical for my HT system :) ? whats better onboard dacs or the ones in the Z5500 ^^?
