Hi people,

I’m in the process of building a Conroe based system. This is the motherboard im most likely going to use

MSI 975X Platinum Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130051

I currently have 5 HP ATLAS 146GB U320 10K RPM SCSI 68PIN and 2 HP 72.8GB 72GB 15K SCSI drives. How would I go about getting the 5 146GB drives in a Raid5 and the other 2 72GB drives in a RAID0.

What options do I have? Do I get a PCIe SCSI card? What if I got a motherboard that has 3 PCIe slots, can I have 1 for my video card and the other 2 for SCSI cards?
Thanks alot

any good scsi raid controller should handle 2 different raid arrays on one card. That should not be a problem.

Yeah - you should only need one RAID controller. Any halfway decent one I've ever seen lets you define multiple arrays.

That looks like a good choice. LSI generally makes nice products, and the people I've noticed using that card seem happy with it.
